Not again!
"Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring." Proverbs 27.1
News of a return to winter's chill is particularly unwelcome after the early blast of summer we have been enjoying over the week just passed. Rather than complain, should we not be grateful for what we have received and comfort ourselves with the notion that the weather is on a warmer overall trajectory - I mean with the prospect of summer rather than climate change (though the latter is a threat we cannot ignore)? As the Teacher in Proverbs cautions us, we need to take each day as it comes, nothing for granted - except, indeed, that we do not travel alone into an uncertain future. God is our constant companion and he has promised only good outcomes for those who trust him and are willing to live faithfully whatever the cost...
