Promised Land?

What a thrill to be in Jordan initiating this twinning with St Paul's Episcopalian Church, for which we have been planning and raising funds for several months! It was a bonus to find that the Eastern Church is a week behind us and so we got to celebrate the Lord's Ascension again - in Arabic! Despite the language barrier, there was good chemistry between ourselves and Pastor George Copti. After a long conversation in his office, he gave us a tour of the church premises, which includes an old folks home for women, and took us out Mount Nebo, where Moses was given a glimpse of the Promised Land. Moses was not permitted to enter it himself but, thanks to Jesus, we can look forward to a welcome in the Eternal Kingdom...
