Antidote

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us... Ephesians 3.20


Anaesthesia describes the condition of despair beyond despair. It occurs when a depressive gives up all hope of recovery. There is no antidote, at least not of a natural kind. But our faith insists that what is impossible for humans is within God's grasp because God is the hope beyond hope.


God is not remote in his transcendence but present in the Holy Spirit. Jesus exhorts us to pray for the Holy Spirit, promising that our prayers will be answered. So we can look forward to being transformed by the same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from death to life. That being the case, what is stopping us?
