“I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” Exodus 3.12

God's commission to Moses to return to the land of Egypt, where he was wanted for murder, to lead his fellow Israelites out of slavery towards their Promised Land daunted Moses and so he asked God for confirmation. In effect God replied "Get on with it!" Short-cuts and guarantees are not ours by right. When we sense God's vocation we simply have to step forward in faith and trust in his providence to see us through. One thing we can be sure of: God will accompany us through the ups and downs until we reach our destination, where we shall give him the glory he deserves.
